Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-07
This policy explains what data SERVER LIST ("we", "us") collects when you use server-list.eu (the "Website"), why, and what choices you have. If you have questions or want to use any of your rights, email support@server-list.eu.
1. Data we collect
When you browse the Website
- Technical data: your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visit. Our hosting server records these in standard access logs, which are used for security and fixing errors.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see section 3.
If you create an account
- Your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text.
- An optional profile photo, and two-factor authentication settings if you turn them on.
- Session cookies that keep you logged in.
Data about game servers
The server pages show information that each Minecraft server publicly reports to anyone who queries it: hostname, IP address, port, game version, message of the day (MOTD), server icon, player counts and, when the server sends it, a sample of online player names. We also look up the approximate location of each server's IP address. Player counts and online status are kept for up to 7 days to show history charts.
2. Why we use data
- To run the Website and show live server status (legitimate interest).
- To provide your account if you register (performance of a contract).
- To understand how the Website is used and improve it (consent, where required).
- To show advertising that funds the Website (consent, where required).
- To keep the Website secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interest).
3. Cookies, analytics and advertising
When you first visit from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, a consent message from Google asks for your choices about cookies used for advertising and measurement. You can change your choices at any time through the privacy settings link that message provides.
We use these third-party services:
- Google AdSense: shows ads. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalised ads in Google's Ad Settings. For how Google uses data, see How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info.
- Google Analytics: measures how visitors use the Website (pages visited, time on page, approximate location, device type).
- Umami (hosted at track.digirete.lt): privacy-friendly visit statistics that do not use cookies.
- Hey.lt: a public visitor counter shown in the footer. It receives your IP address, screen size and the page you came from.
The Website also loads fonts from Bunny Fonts and scripts from the jsDelivr and cdnjs CDNs. These providers receive your IP address when your browser downloads the files.
Strictly necessary cookies (session and CSRF security cookies) are always set, because the Website can't work without them.
4. Sharing
We don't sell your personal data. Data is shared only with the service providers listed above, our hosting provider, and authorities when the law requires it. Some of these providers, such as Google, may process data outside the EEA under the safeguards required by law.
5. How long we keep data
- Account data: until you delete your account. You can do this yourself on your profile page.
- Server history (player counts, online status): up to 7 days.
- Access logs: a limited period for security, then deleted.
- Analytics and advertising data: according to Google's and the other providers' own retention settings.
6. Your rights
If you're in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email support@server-list.eu to use these rights. If you're a player and want your name removed from a server page, or a server owner and want your listing removed, email us as well.
You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country.
7. Children
The Website is not aimed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data through accounts.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
